The Pompano Beach Historical Society will sponsor a free walking tour of Pompano’s old downtown on Saturday, February 18, 2012, at 10:00 AM.

Long-time Pompano Beach residents Bud Garner and Don Downie will lead the tour, pointing out the historic buildings along the route and discussing the people ran businesses and events that unfolded over the years.

The tour is being held in conjunction with the Pompano Beach Green Market, located at the corner of NE First Street and Flagler Avenue (on the east side of the FEC Railroad tracks, just north of Atlantic Boulevard). Those wishing to join the tour should come by the Historical Society booth for instructions.

The walking tour will take about 45 minutes and is handicapped accessible.
